Day lays on a dark gray wash of cloud

 

over pale, pale blue.  Then blue and pink

deepen, dissolve that gray from underneath.

 

More colors come and turn the cloud-lamps on, coral,

streaked with golden yellow, white

until the sun is up and all is light

and now the clouds, if any, white.
